Olathe has been chosen as the site of the 2011 Kansas Harley HOG Rally in June, an event expected to have an economic impact of more than $1.3 million.
The Olathe Chamber of Commerce Convention & Visitors Bureau, along with the Olathe chapter of Harley Owners Group (HOG), announced Wednesday that it had won a bid to host the June 1-4 rally.
The rally attracts more than 1,000 Harley owners from across the Midwest.
The Holiday Inn-Olathe is the host hotel; the rally headquarters is at the Rawhide Harley-Davidson dealership in Olathe. there also will be festivities at Bass Pro Shops in Olathe and at the Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kan.
