KC Harley-Davidson plant won't hold open house this summer

Harley-Davidson inc.’s Kansas City plant will not hold its annual open house in September this year.

In years past, Harley-Davidson has combined a weekend open house that draws Harley dealers and riders from the five-state region with a fundraiser for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

The company said that an expanded commitment of resources to other activities will preclude an open house this year.

However, Harley-Davidson remains a national sponsor of MDA, and the organization will sell raffle tickets to give away a 2010 Dyna Wide glide motorcycle made at the Kansas City plant.

Harley’s Kansas City plant will continue to offer free factory tours on weekdays and Saturday beginning this Saturday and continuing through Sept. 11.
