The Dow Jones Industrial Average dipped back below the 11,000 mark this morning, as nervous investors await first quarter earnings reports that will either confirm or refute the notion that the economic recovery is picking up steam.
Local stocks in the BizTimes Stock Index were led this morning by A.O. Smith Corp. (up 52 cents to $54.83) and Bucyrus International inc. (up 48 cents to $71.00). The largest local decliners this morning were Briggs & Stratton Corp. (down 40 cents to $21.57) and Harley-Davidson inc. (down 39 cents to $32.35).
