When you think of new Harleys, most enthusiasts tend to consider the big twin models like the top of the line Harley Ultra Glide, the Harley Fat Boy or a Harley Softail model. But let’s not over look the wonderful Sportster platform.
We believe the Harley Sportster might be the longest continuously produced model. Launched in 1957 the Harley Sportster has been in business for 53 years and counting.
One of the more recent offerings from Harley-Davidson is their line of “dark customs” which includes the 2010 Sportster Forty-Eight.

One of the cool things about the internet is how much cool information and great old black and white photos there are on various motorcycle blogs and web sites. While cruising around the on-line world I found an interesting blog called 4Q Conditioning from Oakland, California. Lots of eclectic stuff and some cool photos of bikes from the past.

This guy must have had it all – a great looking sled, big performance Sportster engine and a good looking ol’ lady to support him.
Funny how popular Sportsters were back in the 1960s and ’70s and how often people consider them a half a Harley today. What changed?
